edit (Ian): This post has been split from the gadgets thread

Hi Sycthus, when you click insert image on the post tool bar you get >

Delete the [http://] bit then copy / paste the URL from your picture host (eg) Photo bucket etc.

Right Click> Open image in new tab. That's what I do, although I use Chrome.

I get the same broken image on IE8. It appears you have the following as an image (whereas it's actually a link) http://yfrog.com/71gadgetsj. The image is located at http://img253.yfrog.com/img253/8692/gadgets.jpg.

I've edited your post and fixed this for your now

Okay, you've totally confused me, but thanks for fixing it!

I use ImageShack to upload it, which made a link to yfrog. I don't know why!

Do I need to put in the image URL ending with .jpg rather than copying the link? That was the bit I was unsure on.

Yep, that's correct - if you right click on an image you want to use, then click properties and copy the addresslocation. For example... to use the logo in the top right hand corner of this site, the URL will be : http://www.w7forums.com/images/template/header.jpg

Once you've seen this reply I'll split these posts out of the thread and put them in an new one to clean up the thread

I'm using Chrome, so when I right click there isn't a properties option. Is there an alternative in Chrome, or should I just go into IE for this kind of thing?

It's even easier in Google Chrome Right click on the image you want to use and select "copy image URL".

Have a test in this thread
