Playlist burning program

Is there any freeware programs that can burn Winamp M3U playlists to a
CD or DVD blank in data format? Winamp itself can only burn to audio-CD
format not data format. That is I need something that can take a list of
MP3's from a playlist and burn them to a blank.

I used to use Nero Express for this, but I'm trying to get away from the
whole Nero thing right now, and go towards built-in or freeware burning
programs.

There are dozens of burning programs but many people say this is
the best. I haven't tried it, but that's neither here nor there.

I tried Nero a few years ago, it was the most illogical and
infuriating software I have ever used (for about 3 days before).

I don't think imgburn it will "make a playlist" and burn the
mp3's from that data, but no offense, how hard is it to move (or
copy) some files into a directory and number them? (You have to
have a real file manager, of course, I would not attempt it with
WE for the same reason I don't use Nero.)

Seems to be a front end for other programs that you must purchase.

No, I have this program, it is a very good basic burning software, but
it can't create MP3 CD's from a playlist.

I got used to it, but the version I had doesn't work with Win 7, and Win
7 seems to have some very good basic burning capabilities of its own, so
it doesn't make sense to buy a software for this one purpose.

It's pretty hard because the playlist has hundreds of files listed
inside it.

Actually since then, I've found out that Windows Media Player can read
the playlist and burn to CD. However, it's really weird, it seems to
initially expect a CD with 650MB capacity rather than the more common
700MB capacity nowadays. It takes a lot to get it to detect that there's
a 700MB CD blank inserted now. Oh well, I guess I can get used to it,

Burn4Free - at least, the version that runs on Windows 98 and XP - is a
standalone burning software. I think if you're online when you use it,
it shows adverts for other software, but it is certainly standalone.

What do you mean by "MP3 CD" here - a CD containing all the MP3s that
are listed in an M3U file?

Is there something about the way the MP3s are arranged on the CD that
will, when you put that CD into a player (one that can understand MP3s
that is, such as most DVD players), make them play in the order that
playlist is in?
