This might not be the right place for this question (Ian: feel free to move or delete).

I am having trouble accessing my linksys router //192.168.1.1 - I am getting this IE error: "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage".

Any ideas?

Edit: I am able to ping it in DOS

Are you able to access the internet?

After typing in the router's address, is that when the IE message appears?

That's very strange indeed. (Sorry for the late response, had to take care of something in the house.)

Let me check on a few things and I'll be back.

Okay...
If you're running a firewall or internet security program, you might try adding a URL exception for the router's address.

You can also try it with Firefox's browser, which is a better browser IMO, download and install it if you don't have it already.

I have Firefox, but nothing happens when I type the URL, a blank page appears. I am going to reset the router and reboot and see what happens.

That would be good idea. Hold the reset switch down for about 20 seconds or so and that may clear things up for you.

Hi Kalario

Have you been to linksys website to check you routers firmware version (and if it's out of date update it with the current stable version)

Personally, I don't think it's a firmware issue with the router. If he can connect to internet, he should be able to get to the router's access page. I think it still may be in the firewall or something like that.

Of course, I have been known to be wrong on many occasions.

192.168.1.1 should work but as its not something is out, its my experience to check everything and then look at it again

One more thing Kalario when in command prompt and you type ipconfig/all press enter can you take a screen shot of the cmd window please ?
