not sure if it goes here: desktop overheading

Hi, my desktop is overheating, my quad core is going up to 70 sometimes and i have to shutdown (Pc probe), is there an fan control program or an techniques to keep my desktop cool? i know about keeping the fan and opening case but is there any other ideas or solutions?

uh hi nvm if ur reading this, i downloaded real temp for windows 7 but wat it says is COMPLETELY DIFFERENT to PC PROBE:

PC PROBE:
51

real temp:
55,47,49,54


and also, the temp keeps jumping up and down, is this normal?

Temperatures can vary depending if your computer is idling or trying to do heavy work. That being said, the best thing to check is that all your fans are working and that there is not a buildup of dust on the inside (if it is really dusty, buy a can of compressed air and blow out the dust, being carefull to keep the fans from spinning while you are blowing the air...NEVER use a vaccum)
