I just upgraded from windows XP to windows 7. After a long night I have updated all of the drivers with the exception of the multimedia audio controller.

My belarc post is below

in the meantime, i've gone to the gateway website they only offer drivers up to xp. i've tried intstalling this with no resolution

also, i went to drivermax and updated every available driver

the conexant website does not offer suppor for windows 7, however i was able to download the latest driver I could find which was the conexant ver. 6.14.10.0510. also no luck

any help would be appreciated

Have you gone into the hardware manager, removed the yellow markers and rebooted? Sometimes, they well load up doing that.

I don't know what happened. I was just sitting there on the phone. Looked at the computer and actually saw the red strike over the volume icon disappear. Now I have sound. Weird.

Thank you for your prompt reply. If something goes wrong again I'll give it a shot.
