I have a Toshiba Satellite C650 laptop and the sound randomly stopped working on it. I was listening to a show through my headphones and got up for a minute but when I came back there was nothing but a humming sound coming out of the headphones. Then, when the headphones are unplugged there is no sound/static at all coming out of the speakers but the volume control still shows that sound is being played. I've restarted it and checked the sound card in device manager and it says it is working correctly but am unsure what I can do now to solve the problem.

Thanks

Has the sound been muted by accident?
