Is this using the Windows lock from the start menu, where the PC remains powered up but stays at the password logon screen?

The reason I ask is that I have seen wireless connection problems when the computer goes in to standby, but not lock mode.

Does running a repair on the connection fix it?

I use the windows start lock and then the laptop goes into standby when it sits for sometime. How do I fix this or is there a fix for it. And no repair does not work on the connection

Are you using the latest drivers for your WiFi card? It might be worth checking the wifi card properties in device manager and disable any power saving options (or anything else that looks like it would disable the device). A long shot, but it's all I can think of.
