I have a Netgear SC101 SAN storage device commonly known as "The Toaster" on account that it looks like one!
The software and drivers work fine in XP and in Vista, but not in Win7. The drivers just fail to load.

Anyone else in the same boat?

I've had a look around for SC101 drivers for you, but can't find any Windows 7 info on it either. Hopefully Netgear will get some written sometime soon when W7 is closer to release.

I guess because it's a SAN drive and not a NAS/USB connected one, you need the management software on your PC to access it? I've never used a SAN drive myself.

BTW, I've just seen you're from York - that's one of my favourite places! The city is a really nice place to visit, and the countryside is fantastic for walks.

There is nothing yet from Netgear Ian, as you've now found. I'm a member of their forum and that was the first place I looked. I just hope that they do produce some - the SC101 has been around for some time now.

York - yes we like it too. Can't say that we enjoy it when the crowds of tourists descend on us though. But, that's the price we have to pay to live in the place.

Do you get that error even in Application Compatibility mode?

Just seen an update across on the Netgear Beta Forums. The problem has been 'sorted' and all will be OK on RC1!

Great news Did they mention anything about a possible RC1 release date?

Sadly, no!

But, the impression is that it is a M$ fix, not a Netgear one!

Here's a link to a working work-around taken from the Netgear forum.
It does require some registry info from a Vista machine on the same LAN with the SC101 software installed!

http://forum1.netgear.com/showpost.php?p=173859&postcount=5

I've just done it and it works! Took all of 5 mins!
