multiple empty folders being generated in C:\Users\Derek\AppData\Local

Don't forget to track down the full uninstaller on the McAfee site!

I *am* making an assumption here (I think I read it somewhere) that
like Symantec, the normal uninstallation process won't do the trick
with McAfee, so you have to find & use the heavy hitter software from
their site.

I suspect you knew this, but maybe someone else could use the info.

Yes, I knew that and I've got the uninstaller bookmarked.
Thanks for the tip though.

Yes, they finally started appearing; and immediately after I'd said yes
to the Windows Live form. I had already used WL Mail without being
asked, but today I clicked on WL Writer and up came the form.
A pair appeared straight away with a two seconds' gap in timing.
