I had to restore my system and now when I open word or excell it is asking for my product key which I no longer have. There was a backup written to my harddrive but I can't find anything that mentions the product key. Does anyone have any ideas what the file name would be and where it is located in the backup? I'm using windows 7 on a Gateway Acer model NV53 laptop. The office program was purchased after the laptop. Thanks.

Did you save your product key as a text or Word document file?

Do you have it saved in an email?

SIW freeware utility can display all the software keys.

Looks like it's either solved by now or another "hit and run" poster.
