MS Live Photo Gallery (PG) -- re-sizing image

I use Photo Gallery to download my Canon DSLR photos. Often I have a
need to reduce them in size. I don't think PG does that. I'd like to see
the original and re-sized image the same folder, or maybe the re-sized
image in a sub-folder.

R-click, Resize, Resize and Save, done

Irfanview (freeware) is excellent for making thumbnails of all the files
in a folder. You can vary the size too.

Yes, I've used it, and does work well, but I'd prefer, if possible, to
use Gallery for re-size.

I just did a whole folder with it.
Select all, Edit Resize, browse to a place, click.
