Missing registry key?

Some recent posts about Windows Explorer reminded me that I should have
removed Libraries from the navigation pane.

Registry hacks to do this include amending the entry:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{031E4825-7B94-4dc3-B131-E946B44C8DD5}\ShellFolder
(eg in
http://www.askvg.com/how-to-remove-l...vigation-pane/)

But I don't appear to have a HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID key in my Win7HPx64
laptop. I'll investigate other hacks, but out of interest, do others
have this key in their Win7 registry?

Yes, I have it in my Win7 HP 64-bit.
One little point. You have to scroll beyond the items beginning with a
dot to get to it.

Open regedit, Press CTRL+F
Paste in {031E4825-7B94-4dc3-B131-E946B44C8DD5}
, deselect everything but "Keys", Press enter, wait a moment, expand the
selected Key, select ShellFolder.

Thanks - it's there. I didn't actually look for it, but just asked
"Find" to get to it. It didn't find it, nor just the long hex number.

I just tried again. Now it does find the hex number. Weird.

(snip)

I tried using "Find" by pasting in the whole key and then tried with
just the hex number. It didn't find either.

I just tried the hex number again and this time it works. That is
strange. BTW I didn't type either string in, but just selected and
pasted it into the search box both times.
