I don't know how widespread this trial is, but when I updated MBAM yesterday, it offered me a 14 day free trial, w/o signing up or anything. Just click to accept the trail, it's the full version that updates daily, and setup scheduled scans.
Plus it's protection is active. MBAM uses little resources, and works well with most AV/IS solutions. It often finds what many AV's misses.
