Re-hi!

I've posted here before, last week, witness the perllogs (oops) post.

I want to change the colors of the menus/backgrounds/hypertext, some text
sizes, essentially everything! WinXP didn't hide this stuff away so much!

I don't understand how MS decided on the baby blue and white contrasting
text and buttons. To me it's a hindrence. I need better definition.

I'd like, for example, black text on legal pad yellow menus, with
opposing highlights as I mouse through the items.!

I feel stupid I can't do this.

The Win7 OS has become much more textual than graphical, and more
confusing to me, at the moment.

Who didn't now how to "pin" anything anywhere from WinXP (W2k?)? As if
that's a great breakthrough? Sorry!

Please help!

Andy

You'll be going back in time! :-)

The only way I can see to alter the basic things like you want is to change
your display theme to Windows Classic. Try this:
Right-click on a blank area of your Desktop > Personalize.
Scroll down and select the Windows Classic theme.
Now below select Window Color and you should be back on familiar ground.

(If you choose to keep these settings you will lose the aero/glassy effect.)

Once in the Windows colour, click advance to get the good old appearance
dialogue

That doesn't give me the "appearance" features I want. That's just a
blanket 'pizazz" thing. I used to be able to change window borders...
menu text sizes and fonts... SHIT... you remember!!!

Can I edit a theme?

That's more like it. Why couldn't they put a nice big button there instead
of tiny blue writing on a white background! :-(

That depends on your Interpretation of Edit
You will probably need a third party application to create a full theme such
as windows blinds.
