I'am unable to revive my American Heritage talking Dictionary so as to run in Win 7. Any
suggestions or hints as to a good pronounce, talking dictionary for Win 7?? Any help or
suggestions appreciated.

Mine runs fine.

I had quite an old version, which did not run in Windows 7. I found
the AHD's help desk, sent an email, and they gave me a free upgrade.
It installed without a problem and has been running well, including
the audio part.

Unfortunately I no longer remember how I did this, but I do remember
it took very little effort to find. So you should be able to find it
easily also.

FWIW, I didn't *demand* an upgrade, because the standalone product
was selling for about $75. I said that I had bought the College
Edition when it came with the free CD of the full dictionary, that I
recognized they didn't owe me an upgrade but wondered if they could
do anything for me.

In my experience, people are more eager to help when you ask a favor
than when you make a demand. I do tech support for a living, and
recently one customer opened a call with, "I've made a mistake and
messed myself up. I hope you can help me." You can bet I went an
extra mile to do so, because it was such a nice change from the usual
"Your software is broken!!!" calls when actually it's user error.

I understand the impulse not to help, but in that case you might at
least post the actual URL instead of the non-previewing tiny URL.

You asked, I answered. Take it or leave it, makes no difference to me.

I just use the online Merriam-Webster dictionary. It includes an audio
pronunciation option.

Why, because the OP is too stupid/lazy to do a Google search and I
did it for him?

That seems that makes him the idiot, he accuses me of not helping
when I gave him the answer he was looking for.

Of course, not figuring out the above tends to make you look like an
idiot too, doesn't it?

I did that now I would like to see reviews and experiences because I was not impressed with the
available spell checkers.
