What has been your experience?
Thanks in advance

I upgraded from XP Pro 32 bit to Windows 7 Pro 64 bit using Laplink. It
worked as advertised with a few problems, that being programs that would
not work on Win 7.

De activate or uninstall programs like Adobe Acrobat, Photoshop and
Office, then re activate when you're running Win 7.

I'm a believer in cloned drives, so I cloned my C: drive before the
update/move and kept the clone for about 2 weeks, then cloned the
Windows 7 drive to the old XP clone. I've been running problem free
since November 3rd or 4th.

It didn't work for me.

It gave every indication that it was working both before and after, but once
Windows 7 was up and running NONE of my programs worked. They were all in
the Program Files folder but not in the Registry correctly. Nothing worked.
I wasted my time and money.

Worked fine for me.
The only program I had to reinstall was the AV [And maybe that was my fault
as I forgot to turn it off during the process.].
I would hate to reinstall all my programs so this was essential.

I used a program called ZinstallXP7 (www.zinstall.com) to do this. It
not only migrates your apps, it migrates your entire Windows XP into a
virtualized machine under Windows 7.

I think it will work for 90% people, as advertised, but for me, I have a
somewhat complicated system layout, with Linux lying alongside Windows,
etc. So it took a lot of help support from their support team to finally
get it working on my system.

Used it to migrate from Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit Release Candidate
to Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit via in-place upgrade. There were a
handful of applications that I had to reinstall - but it worked
suprisingly well. Most applications worked. When all worked for a
couple of weeks, I deleted Windows.old
