Keeping windows maximized

I'n using Windows 7 Professional 64 bit. I have an old game I play regularly
but everytime I open it up to play, I have to manually drag the window to a big
enough size so I can get to the buttons to play the game. Is there a setting so
that once I enlarge the window, it stays that way even after the game is closed
and after the computer is shut down, so when I launch the game the next time,
it's all ready to go? Enlarging the window each time isn't the end of the world,
I was just wondering if this could be done. Thanks.

Win7 is very finicky in this area. Some games yes, some no, but try these
two options.

1: Grab the corners of the window and drag it to full screen size. Do not
use Maximize. Close all other windows first via the Taskbar and this one
last. Windows will remember the size used of the last window closed the
next time you open the program.

2: Whichever shortcut you are using to launch the window, right click it
and select properties. Under the 'Run' drop-down, choose "Maximized".

It's up to the application to remember its window size and position. If
your game isn't programmed to do that, Windows won't remember that
information.

Maybe someone knows of a third-party utility to do what you want, but
as far as I know, Windows itself can't do it.

Along that line, programs often store that information in a
configuration file, and the program needs administrator privileges to
edit that file. It is possible that running the program as administrator
will solve the problem.

Try this. Right click on the game icon and select Properties and then in the Run box
select what size screen you want. Remember to hit Apply before backing out

That's true. If that's the case here, and it stores its settings in an
..ini file in the program directory, moving the game to a location other
than in \Program Files might be a good solution.

In most games that I have played or play there is usually a option for
full screen in the games "options tab" Just my 3 cents though.
