I just bought an e-machine et1331g05w, it came with windows 7 installed. In "all programs" internet explorer is listed as internet explorer 64 bit, and just internet explorer. Can I run both, or just stick with one?

Welcome to the forum, bigtrees

All 64-bit installations of Windows 7 come with 2 versions to run, a 32-bit version (default) and a 64-bit version (marked as such).

You can run either one, although I'd recommend sticking with the 32-bit version - simply because although the browser works great in 64-bit mode, some of the plugins you may use will not work with it yet. This is slowly changing, so at some point in the future you may want to switch over - but for now the 32-bit version will work with almost any plugin and have almost zero performance difference .

Think of the 64-bit as "for future use".

Like Ian said, the 64-bit browser works but unfortunately other companies such as Adobe which makes the flash player plug-in, which provides most of the video clips you find on the web, and anti-virus companies such as Norton Symantec, which make add-in toolbars to stay active and watch for malicious code on websites, have not kept up with the times. Until you can browse safely and have full functionality in 64-bit it is best to run the 32-bit.
