Hi
I am having an intermittent start up problem that I need to analyze.
I am running
Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit. with a number of user accounts defined.
to start correctly I need to log on as a user quickly.
If I leave the welcome screen on for a time and then log on I get the problem.
When the problem happens all look fine, log in to an account is fine.
Desk top is up and looking good, however many applications will not start.
These are mainly applications accessing the internet. Email, IE8, Skype ETC.
I strongly suspect Norton internet security but Symantec are no help at all.
after a short time windows notification reports no antivirus running ETC.
Sometime just logging on and off resolves the problem other time I need to reboot completely.
Has anyone else have similar problems? Does anyone know how I can gather some information in Win7 to clearly identify the application causing the problem. At least if I can prove the problem is caused by Symantec they may take some notice. I am running Norton internet security 17.5.0.127.
Also is there a processor queue I can look at to see the applications I have tried to start that are just sitting waiting to start. They are not as far as being displayed in the task manager.
Thanks
Adrian

Thanks for the suggestion but yes I regularly check all my PC. I am really looking for details of how to get in to monitor applications and processor pooling. Object lock status and applications wait status. This should allow me to identify the application blocking all the other applications from starting.
