I'm just starting to get used to Windows 7. Now they want me to buy a
new one? Whatever happened to Service Packs?

Maybe they've reached rock bottom, now begins the slow ascent home
towards something more like w98 :-)

Less library crap, less virtualization, more real and fully qualified
paths using just a file manager which is all that explorter needs to be.
I won't hold my breath, they want the tablet market with no keyboard
or even a mouse.

Ridiculous. I just tried to install 7 to a virgin disk and one of the
options beside "install now" cought my eye: "repair your computer". Hello?

I'm shooting for Windows 2000.

If you are right about the less library crap and less other stuff, I
might be interested.

That is because the install disk is also a repair disk which can be used
to install backup images, restore points or corrupted system files. I
used it for that recently.

It's easier to get people to *pay* for a Service Pack when it's
disguised as a new version.
