Yes, but you don't input your numbers into the image!

The image only shows you what the input dialog looks like. You make
the input dialog appear by running the program. (I don't know the
specific steps because I don't have the program, but you do.)

>I made copies of the data to paste in but it did not paste.

Well, of course not! You have to enter your numbers into the input
dialog. It won't work to try to "enter" your numbers into an image.
It's no wonder that neither Firefox nor IE "worked". What you were
attempting to do makes no sense.

>As I have mentioned earlier, I made an image of the form, then pasted my
>numbers and sent it. I had no reply.

If you did what it sounds like you did, they probably haven't stopped
laughing long enough to reply to you. Seriously, I hope you aren't
trying to enter your registration data into an image. That will
*NEVER* work.

Either you don't understand what Char is saying, or you haven't been
explaining your situation well enough for us to understand. As far
as I can tell, you are trying to enter your serial number on the web
page you reference above. That is NOT possible.

The "form" you reference above is not a form at all. It is a help
page or tutorial that shows pictures of what the form looks like. It
is impossible to paste anything into that picture. As the
instructions clearly state, a dialog box should appear the first
time you start Impact ColorFax. THAT's where you enter your serial
number. NOT in the picture on that web page you reference.

You need to get ColorFax to present the form to you in order to fill
it out. Don't try to go to that web page and do it, it will never
work, nor should it.

Or am I misunderstanding what you did?

Have you tried calling them at 1.(603).882.7711?

Have you tried emailing them at and/or
?

Have you tried their on-line support forum at
<http://www.blackice.com/forum/> ?

Please read what Char Jackson and Nil are saying in response to what
you wrote above.

Char has found your problem, Nil is corroborating what Char has said,
and having followed the discussion and clicked on your link, I am here
to tell you something:

*They are right!*

You are trying to enter data into a help screen, not a registration
form.

To emphasize:
*You are trying to enter data into a help screen, not a registration
form.*

To emphasize once more:
*YOU ARE TRYING TO ENTER DATA INTO A HELP SCREEN, NOT A REGISTRATION
FORM.*

*Follow their advice!*

Stop denying it - they are right and you are confused!

Thanks, Gene and Nil. After all of this, I just hope we're right in
our assumptions or we're going to look a little funny. :-)

When you say "it does not take it", are you getting the message window
that is shown as the second one on the above webpage?

In other words - are you running the Impact ColorFax software, and
immediately getting a message window that looks like the first one on
the above webpage?

If Char and others are right that you're trying to enter it _into the
webpage_, then yes, that won't work. You have to make the Impact
ColorFax software itself produce the form.

Since I don't have the software either, I don't know - but I see the web
page says "the first time you start the Impact ColorFax the following
dialogue box will appear". If, for some reason, they really do mean it
only appears the _first_ time, then you need to make it appear again; in
a lot of software, there is a "Registration" (or similar) option under
"Help", which hopefully should cause the window to pop up again.

Thank you Nil, and all the others who responded, very much for your
information.

OK then, why did those chumps not send me the REAL form. That would be
kid stuff because there would be only a few simple numbers to input and
possibly my name of email address, which they already have.

If I had been presented with a real, simple, form I could have fixed
this situation in a few minutes.

> Or am I misunderstanding what you did?

No form was provided and no filling took place.

I am at least 3,000 miles away from them.

Yes, I sent two emails there. I had a response to the first one and they
responded with their usual vague crap. They are obviously
immune to simplicity.

Yes, but there were not many examples there.

Have a great weekend all :-)

If they had sent me a blank form, and told me the items, etc. to enter,
they would have had it back within a hour. Why did they get involved in
such messy stupidity?

They did show the forms on the screen but they never gave me the form/s
to fill out.

ColorFax was running when I was trying to fill the form but I still
could find a fillable form.

I tried to follow the link below but I got nowhere.

Thanks John for your comments.

I entered 'Online Registration' in the Help file and the result was 0.

I tried the Help File:

Search - "Failed Licensing of the Impact ColorFax."
Help - "Failed Licensing of the Impact ColorFax."
Online help - Error 404
Online Forum - I have been there and did not find an answer
Getting Started - There was nothing about registration.
About - Nothing useful there.

Only the Blackice people can answer that question.

Then where did you find that help page with the pictures?

So am I. It's a telephone, distance doesn't matter much.

You can also ask questions there, which is what I was trying to
suggest you do.

I found more registration instructions on their web site:
