IE 8 freezes

I am using Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit with IE8. During browing internet using IE8, it oftenly freezes and i have to end task to close it and later restart it with the previous session saved while crashing. To avoid such freezing situations, i am using google chrome and never faced such problems on the same platform.
Can any one tell me why IE 8 freezes again and again even my OS is updated as and when required.

Can you try running IE8 in safe mode please, just type "iexplore -extoff" in the run menu (Press Windows Key + R to access this).

This will disable all addons for that session, so you can see if one of those is causing the problem. If it is, you can then disable them all and then re-enable them one by one till you find the problem.

Microsoft release an update today for some of the issues with IE 8 freezing up, etc.

Use the Update feature to get it.

There's also an update for some of the freeze problems associated with the screensaver.

@ lan, Thanks Ian i have tried the procedure you have mentioned but still faced the same. I have downloaded the updates released by Microsoft for IE8 as suggested y Nibiru2012, its working fine until now after updating.
