Ideal CPU and RAM for Win 7?

Have Goggled for days. Can find Min reqd. Can find "will my system work?" Can't find ANY recomendations for a person buying a new laptop. Any good links to recommendations for RAM & CPU speed?

Hello. It really depends on what you are using it for. If you are only doing word processing and bare minimum use, I would recommend Microsoft's bare minimums, but for things like everyday use, photoshopping, media and such, I would recommend at least a 1.6 GHz AMD Athlon 64 with 2 GB Ram for 32 bit, and at least a 2 GHz Athlon 64x2 Dual core with 4 GB Ram for 64 bit. For gaming, i would say go for a mobile AMD Phenom or mobile AMD Athlon II with 4gb RAM on 64 bit W7.
