Every time I reboot windows the icons are rearranged in any arbitrary fashion. I frequently have to arrange them the way I want them; however on reboot it becomes a guess as to how they reappear. Any suggestions?

Right click the desktop, see if align icons to grid is checked. Then, scan with SuperAntiSpyware to eliminate the possibility of malware. What antivirus are you using? When did this problem start? Any possible software conflicts?

Hi and yes.

You can try placing all of your icons in one folder instead of two.

If your user account is Dave for argument's sake:

Go to C:\Windows\Users\All Users\Desktop and cut all the files from there to a new folder anywhere. This intermediate step is important as it will not allow to directly cut and paste to where they eventually need to go.

Once the icons from there are cut and pasted to a new folder, then cut them again out of this folder to

C:\Windows\Users\Dave\Desktop

Enjoy.
