Not a Windows 7 issue, so I'm sure there are better places to ask your
question. My initial read, however, is either stop trying to use the
missing feature or insert the Office 2007 CD and install the missing
feature.

As far as I’m concerned It IS a Windows 7 issue. It has been on my computer ever since I bought it several months ago. I do not now have nor have I ever had Office 2007.

Because you are using the much deprecated Windows Live Mail, if you
don't remove the previous correspondents signature delimiter, your
messages are either "greyed out" or not visible depending on how the
recipients program is set. Why not save yourself and the rest of us a
lot of trouble and get a real newsreader.

No - but your Computer vendor added a TRIAL version of Office - so it's
NOT a Windows issue.

I wasn't aware that by asking for help that I was causing you and all the
rest a lot of trouble.
I thought this was a place to find help but evidently that's not what it's
about.
Not being as experienced as you and Char are, I have no idea what a
signature delimiter
is. My messages are not greyed out and are very visible. Thanks for the
help.

You are no more help than the others. I bought a new computer with Windows
7 installed.
It certainly wouldn't come new with a trial version installed.

It certainly could. What makes you think it wouldn't? OEMs often
(usually) install trial software so you, the consumer, think you're
getting more for your money. In reality, after a trial period, you are
forced to buy the software or uninstall it or ignore it.

Windows does *NOT* come standard with any version of Office. If you
have a copy, it's either a trial version, or it was bundled with your
computer by your OEM dealer, or it's pirated.

Your original message is not available on any of the three news
services I have available, so I don't know what your real problem is.
But, in any case, it's not really a Windows issue. You will be more
likely to get a good answer from your computer dealer, or maybe asking
on one of the several Microsoft Office groups.

Errr ... it certainly *can* e.g. some eMachines laptops come with a 60
day trial of Office Home & Student edition installed ...

You seem to be the one asking for help here, why be so rude to anyone
trying to do just that?

Oh yes it would. MOST new computers come with a trial version of Office
these days.
Have you actually thought to LOOK in Control Panel-Uninstall a Program
to see? That's the FIRST place I would have looked in...

You are faced with an opportunity to learn. Perhaps you should take it.

Your news reader's characteristics make some of your replies hard,
sometimes impossible, to read. That is where the problem is, not in the
attitudes of those who are actually trying to *help* you by pointing
this out.
