Hi everybody I am new to the group and I hope I enjoy it.

I have just bought a Toshibe L459D and it came with Win 7 Home pre-installed and it is OK, but before I bought it I bought a brand new Windows 7 Professional 32bit and 64 bit software for my old laptop but that packed up before I had chance to install it.
So my question is can I install my copy of Windows 7 profesional on my new laptop.

Ken

Be sure to go to Toshiba's web page and download all the latest Windows 7 drivers for which ever version you're going to install. Put on a thumb drive or a CD-RW.

Then when you do the install, you'll be all set.

You can wipe the hard drive from the Windows 7 install DVD also.

Ken, here's the set of instructions I used for a clean install, and clearing the hard disk is part of the operation.

The Windows 7 install will show your hard drive and any partitions on it.

Below that window is an area with Advanced Option, click it and you can delete the partitions, make new ones and format to.
