hdd space changing

hello people , hope you can help me out here , basically ive noticed that my drive that my os is installed on keeps randomly changing like i look one day its 4gb and then look the next and its like 1.5 or something .

it just keeps randomly changing and i cant figure what it could be ?

i checked system restore and its not that :/

If you have the Paging File on the hard drive that will happen. Especially if you have the Paging File size option set as a dynamic instead of static.

If you have System Restore activated the drive will change size also.

I have found it best to put the Paging File on a separate internal hard drive. Windows likes it better that way, much faster response and less fragmentation of the C drive too.

or you can just use a bigger hd to boot your windows os
