I've got an iPhone at the moment and I've tried Google Android phones over the years, but I've never used one of the new Windows Phone 7 devices.

Has anyone here got one or had a go of a demo unit? I'd love to hear your thoughts on how it compares if so.

I'm likely going to move away from an Apple product for my next phone (after the slow 3G firmware update debacle), so this new phone OS may be the one to try.

I haven't yet, but as far as sd cards go with the windows 7 phone i dont like the idea of them being locked to that phone permanantly, well you can do a hard reset, but who wants to do that everytime they want to change sd card or put a bigger memory card in the phone.

I didn't know about that SD card issue - that's a strange thing to do to a storage card... I wonder what the reasoning behind that was?

Dont know, but they was an issue regarding OTA updates too something like microsoft will be forcing these updates!!! but i read somewhere that it wasn't true, so i dont know whats happening with that.

and now they say there will be no upgrading form windows mobiles v 6 handset, including the HTC's!

peronally i think they will eventually end up abandoning the current Windows Mobile 6.x platform

Well, it looks like the windows 7 phone is going to be available sooner than we think, according to microsoft tweeting'.

well i wont be rushing out to buy one anyway until microsoft no what they are doing for definate about these updates and this so called locking the SD cards to phone, then in time we will probably see the win moby v6 be forgotten about.

oh and if you going to rush out and buy a windows 7 phone, just check its available on your preferred network!

To be honest, although I am retired I can find better things to do than play with phones for hours on end. A short spell on the computer is enough. I prefer to get out and about. I use my mobile phone for phone calls and text messages. Get a life folks.

Well, I downloaded the dev kit, and then used that on my phone.
Kinda buggy though, so I can't speak for an actual device. It's pretty sleek!

Nice design, but I think it's kinda limited (the layout).
