Google Desktop Ends Sept 14

I'm disappointed that Google Desktop, and its gadgets, will end on Sept 14.
Can anyone recommend an alternative?

The most important gadget/widget for me is a calendar with an agenda view.
I will continue to use Google Calendar online, and hopefully there is a
gadget/widget that can sync with that.

Any suggestions? Thanks!

I know a couple friends and family like to use the Yahoo Widgets (clock,
calendar, weather). I can't recommend any since I don't use any Google
widgets to know what Yahoo widgets would be near equivalents.

By the way, it's not just their Desktop product that they're
discontinuing. Others are getting chopped, too.
