How to get rid of Trojan.Win32.anti av.gzx?

Hi,
Tried to do a Backup on my W7 Ultimate for the first time. The backup was not allowed because of the Trojan.Win32.anti av.gzx. My virus program Kaspersky caught it and gave me a link to follow which I did. The link said in could not be identified so Kaspersky said to click ignore it.

I did that and I got a backup but it stated that some of my files had not been found or were not backed up and listed the Trojan 32 file. I did a search on my W7 for it but no luck. I don't know if I am infected or not.

All the searching I do seems to want me to buy another virus program.
Any suggestions?

Hmmm. Seems mainly to haunt game porn sites (did I get that right? Is that a site for depraved reindeer?).
OK, poor attempt at humour over.
I'd suggest downloading Malwarebytes, update it and do a full scan.
I'd also get rid of the backup you already have if you haven't done so already. I know AV programs can raise twice as many arguments as there are programs, but I never had much faith in Kaspersky. Then again I've been an ESET man for the last few years and no doubt there will be someone who can tell me a horror story or two about that AV! But for an AV to flag something and then say doesn't matter, ignore it......

Thanks Elmer, I will give that a try. I am in the middle of a complete scan by Kaspersky - 9hrs. It even scans the external drives even though I thought I had checked not to scan. I am not too keen on Kaspersky. In my old computer, XP, I used good old FREE AVG. Loved your befuddled.

Wow! I suppose it all depends on what you have installed but with 220Gb of stuff in five partitions over three drives I don't think Nod32 has ever taken more than 4 hours to do the lot.

How long a scan takes would depend on how large your HD is and how many files. It is very difficult to compare one computer to another.

That being said, the software you use can effect the times drastically but I have never tried Kaspersky nor AVG to give a personal comparison of their relative speeds.
