How to get rid of extra line in Win 7 boot.
I had a crush and now my pc is booting in a "recovery"
mode asking always to select a booting option from
a "recovery", and there is two lines one of good boot
and the other corrupted.
How to fix this "option" and return to a normal booting?

TIA for any help.

James

Do a search for boot.ini. When found then double click on it . Notepad will open
with both boot lines and then just remove\delete the bad one.Select File \Save and
close out.

Then open MsConfig and make sure that on the general tab you have Normal start up
selected and not Selective start up. Hit Apply and back out. Reboot computer

****Make sure you remove the wrong boot line in Notepad and not the one that is the
good one

Boot.ini is used for WinXP/Win2K.

BCD is used for Windows 7, as stated in the question.

Here is a recipe for repairing BCD. I think this recipe may have
been on the Microsoft site as well.

http://www.ehow.com/how_5472680_rebuild-bcd.html

Same recipe here.

Well since you already have it fixed, here's a link to a program that
gives you a graphical front-end for editing the BCD settings:

http://neosmart.net/dl.php?id=1

The program is called EasyBCD, and best of all it's free!
