I'm new to using Windows 7, and I've looked everywhere and can't find
how to get the "Delete" button onto the Menu or Tool Bar (not sure
which one it is called). Win 7 seems to have removed it for some
unknown reason, and I would like to have it back as it's a pain to
have to keep right-clicking, scroll to delete and then click!! Greatly
appreciate any help available.

Thank you.

If you are talking about the menu/toolbar for some program, then it's
the developers of the program you should be asking: it's their
decision/choice on how to handle Delete.

There is of course the Delete key, but that will only work on a
highlighted item.

What's on menus and what's on toolbars is a function of what program
you are running. What program are you asking about?

Oh, sorry - I'm talking about the plain old Windows folders - I guess
it's Windows Explorer. Not any particular other program. It's the
Menu Bar which has changed and removed the "Delete" button. I would
like to get it back.

Thanks.

Well, that's certainly a possibility! Thank you for that link.

No particular program - just plain old Windows folders - Explorer, I
think it's called.

Thanks.

OK, thanks for the clarification. On the Windows Explorer menu bar,
it's not exactly delete, but under Edit, you can find Cut, which is
effectively almost the same as delete. You can also find Cut under
Organize. But personally I'd rather click an item to select it,then
press the delete key on the keyboard.

I have Classic Shell too. FD is right, it has what you want. Free, too.

Thanks - I see where that Cut button is - and I think maybe you're
right, that it's just better to hit the Delete key on the keyboard. I
just wish stuff would get left alone - I like my "old slippers"!! LOL!
