Hi afid_newbie - Welcome to w7forums

Where did you purchase Windows 7? Was this an online purchase?

Most likely this is not a genuine copy of windows. As Clifford suggested, let us know where you purchased it?

Maybe another hit & run?

This has happened to some users, even though they have a Genuine Product Key for Windows 7.

If that is the case, a call to the MS Windows 7 Tech support may help.

now the notification's disappeared (I didn't know how could that occurred). the day after I posted the thread, it's today, I get another notification. I'm asked for activating my windows and I prefer to close it. I got confused more and more

please, help me solve this (sorry 'bout my poor english)

Once you install you have thirty days to activate Windows. Until you activate there is a message telling you that you may not be genuine. Until Windows has been activated you will continue to see this popup.

The real fun begins when the computer automatically adds time to the bootup and shuts down automatically after 2 hours to annoy you into activating a valid license.

Microsoft sometimes gives out false positives. I had a copy of MSE start annoying about an invalid license even though everytime I go to the Microsoft website it is fine.

You will want to activate...

Even my valid licence was flagged as not genuine. I used the following links to fix my problem:

Microsoft can invalidate your Windows at any time. If the code shows up as too many activations they can mark it invalid, even 3 months or more down the line. This happens often with codes "found" on the internet or bought as code-only on eBay. If you buy the key from a questionable source you are always taking a chance. Your best bet is to buy it along with the disks using a credit card and save the sales receipt or buy it directly from Microsoft.
