Gadget Problems...

Well I finally have a small problem that I just can't figure out myself
and need some help. I use a couple of gadgets on my desktop one is a
network meter and the other is a drive meter. Both gadgets were created
by the same person/company and they used to work just great up until a
few days ago. Instead of opening and showing me a graph of my network
and rive usage, all I see now is a white box with a greater than symbol
(>) in the lower right corner. Since pictures show better than a
description, here's a screenshot of the gadgets:

I've emailed the programmer three days ago and haven't heard from him
yet. So this is what I've done to try to fix it:

I've uninstalled, rebooted and installed the gadgets again to no joy.

I've switched from the 64-bit sidebar to the 32-bit sidebar using a
registry hack without success.

Thinking it might be a corrupt user profile, created a new user account
and had the same results.

Both gadgets are from AddGadget (http//addgadget.com) I downloaded new
files from their website and still haven't gotten them working right.

So any suggestion or ideas that I might try? My system is as follows:

MSI G41M-P26 motherboard
Intel Celeron E3400 Dual Core processor
8 GB ram
1 TB Seagate HD
EVGA Nvidia GT520 Video card
HP dvd1270i multi-drive
Windows 7 Home Premium Edition 64-bit

Try right-clicking on the desktop, choose View, uncheck Show desktop
gadgets.

Now redo that and this time re-check Show desktop gadgets.

Just tried that, and no it didn't help. Just wish it could have been
something so simple that I had over looked....But if that had, I would
have thought that by creating a new user profile that the gadgets would
have displayed properly in it. So this lead me to believe that the
problem is at the system level and not at the user level.

OK, I suggested it because it worked for me when I had gadget problems
similar to what you described, assuming I understood it properly :-)

Sorry it wasn't adequate - but at least it's easy to try...

Oh well I guess I"ll just have to live with it. In my perusing of the
internet I discovered that Microsoft has pretty much dropped support of
gadgets anyway. They have shuttered their gadgets gallery, and clicking
on the get more gadgets online link on the Sidebar lands you on a page
that only has a few of the most popular gadgets on it.
