Here is my set up on my new system:

-CPU - AMD Phenom II X6 - 1090T black edition (stock fan)
-Mobo - MSI 880G-E45 with onboard video
-RAM - 8gb (2x4gb) Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600
-Video Card - Power Color ATI Radeon HD 4670

I keep getting BSODs that say Hyper Transport Sync Flood Error. I tried disabling HPET, setting my RAM to its default voltage of 1.5V, and moving the CPU Voltages to Auto. I dont know why its not working. I would really love for my system to work smoothly. Thanks in advance,
JKDManoj

We do need the DMP file as it contains the only record of the sequence of events leading up to the crash, what drivers were loaded, and what was responsible.

You may be able to get the DMP files without crashing by booting into safe mode (F8) with networking.

To enable us to assist you with your computer's BSOD symptoms, upload the contents of your "\Windows\Minidump" folder.

The procedure:

* Copy the contents of \Windows\Minidump to another (temporary) location somewhere on your machine.
* Zip up the copy.
* Attach the ZIP archive to your post using the "paperclip" (file attachments) button.
*If the files are too large please upload them to a file sharing service like "Rapidshare" and put a link to them in your reply.

To ensure minidumps are enabled:

* Go to Start, in the Search Box type: sysdm.cpl, press Enter.
* Under the Advanced tab, click on the Startup and Recovery Settings... button.
* Ensure that Automatically restart is unchecked.
* Under the Write Debugging Information header select Small memory dump (256 kB) in the dropdown box (the 256kb varies).
* Ensure that the Small Dump Directory is listed as %systemroot%\Minidump.
* OK your way out.
* Reboot if changes have been made.

Your .dmp file shows a stop error of 0x124 which is a general hardware error .

A "stop 0x124" is fundamentally different to many other types of bluescreens because it stems from a hardware complaint.

Stop 0x124 minidumps contain very little practical information, and it is therefore necessary to approach the problem as a case of hardware in an unknown state of distress.

You can read more on this error and what to try here... http://www.sevenforums.com/crash-loc...-what-try.html

my motherboard restarts and says "hyper transport sync flood error"

I am positive it relates to the settings related to this. I need help calibrating my mobo settings to accommodate the hardware ie:
CPU-NB voltage & Clock speed
HT Link - voltage and clock speed
HPET enabled/disabled
etc, etc

Have you tried going in to the motherboard's BIOS settings and choosing "Opitmal Default" settings and then saving them?

If Nibiru's suggestion doesn't do the trick, there are one or two adjustments that can cause the problem. I think it may have been a mistake putting the CPU to "Auto". This , I believe you will find, sets it at about 1.3v or higher. Bring this down to 1.25.
If you have the option, bring the multiplier down to 10x. (I think you will find the default is higher than that.)

which values should i be changing davehc? Can you be a tad more specific on which values I should set everything to?

at the moment my CPU-NB values are at 2200, and my HT Link speed is at 1800.
Please let me know if I should modify the values for: CPU Voltage, CPU-NB Voltage, CPU-NB Clock, HT Link Clock, DRAM Voltage, CPU VDD Voltage, CPU VDD ND Voltage, NB Voltage, NB clock, etc.i dunno what a lot of these values mean.

Have you read the motherboard's user manual? It is not necessary to understand what all of the settings do or mean. What is necessary is the settings for the CPU clock speed (read frequency multiplier) and the RAM clock speed (Northbridge frequency multiplier). Those are the two critical ones.

Make sure those switches for FSB Overclocking on the mobo are set to "Default" settings.

Try the "Fail-Safe Default" settings in the BIOS first and see how the system responds and performs, then try the "Optimized Default" settings and see how the system then responds. These settings are in the BIOS. Both settings automatically adjust all the settings for either stable system performance or optimal performance.

DON'T go in and start messing with individual BIOS settings, those are for advanced users only! If you're not familiar with what exactly is going on in the motherboard BIOS settings, then don't fiddle around with them, you could fry some hardware.

The "Fail-Safe Default" settings should tried first and let the system run for several hour to verify stability and such.

Do you have your RAM sticks in the correct DIMM slots? They should be in DIMM slots #1 & #2, for a DDR dual channel mode.

hey Nibiru,
yeah I tried the fail safe options first, then i got the hyper transport sync flood error. Then i tried the optimized settings and still the same thing. I had all the settings in auto and was still getting this error before I started googling.

I got the suggestions from above in a thread I saw here -->http://www.amdzone.com/phpbb3/viewto...37699&start=50

the user wuttz over there seemed to have figured out the solution.
Disable HPET, have your CPU-NB clock speed value higher than your HT Link clock speed value. The rest is a matter of tweaking the voltages to accommodate this. I hope I'm not missing something, but I dont know how to do voltages for the life of me. =(

Read your motherboard manual! It tells how to do that in the section dealing with the "CELL MENU" section of the BIOS, page 59 of your manual.

my cell menu section of my manual seems to be abridged. It starts on page EN-33. It does not explain anything. it just gives is all fluff. It does not state what the default values should be or by how much I should increase or decrease any given value.

EX:

Adjust CPU-NB Ratio
This item is used to adjust the CPU-NB ratio.
