When I purchased my Compacq Windows System Home Premium in July I was informed that the purchasing package also included a free download of Windows 7.
Is it now OK to download Windows 7 free since it is after Oct 22nd.

Hi Steve - Welcome to w7forums

Once available for download you are free to download. Check availability from Compaq for your copy of Windows 7. If you find it is not available then you should contact Compaq because it is now past Oct 22nd.

With my wife's laptop from HP, we had to go to https://www.hpwindows7upgrade.arvato...r/default.aspx
and fill in a form to order the Windows 7 and HP Drivers DVDs. It was a free upgrade and there was no shipping charges. We needed only show proof of purchase on the product, and our upgrade was accepted. We are now just waiting on them to ship us the discs.
