This is a wierd one. To start, my copy of FM is NOT legitimate, so i dont need to install anything. Its simply a folder that holds all the game info etc and can run from the fm.exe contained within. When formatting or reinstalling my OS its simply a matter of dragging the folder from my external to my C: . Now though, with w7, it cant run from the folder copied onto C: (It comes up with some sort of error message saying it cant find some essential data), but it CAN run straight off my external. What gives? Theyre exactly the same, copy/pasted from A to B.
