Firewall Blocking Windows Update

Keeps telling me that a firewall is blocking the process. I have shut off the firewall and still cannot get the system to check for updates.

Welcome to the forums Joreshan

Do you have the full error message (inc. error code) that Windows gives you? It seems a little strange if it still happens when your firewall is disabled.

What security software are you using on your PC?

I am using BitDefender. the error codes that i am receiving are 80048820 for Windows Live Messenger login failure and 8024402C for Windows Update failure
