Firefox has been working fine for me in Windows 7, but this evening when I tried to start it, it tried to apply some updates. Each time it would tell me that applying updates failed, would restart and then do it again and again and again....

Only ending the task would stop FF3 from bringing up error messages.

Have I broken it

Some other reports of this on the net say that running FireFox in administrator mode will sort the problem (do it by right clicking the icon and selecting "run as administrator" when logged in to your admin account).

Failing that, just re-download the latest FireFox package from the net and install it over the top.

Firefox is loading and updating fine for me Windows 7 Build 7000. I don't use it with administrator privileges but when updating, the updater component of the browser itself triggers UAC and goes into administrator mode.
