Expand All tasks from the registry

The tip was originally introduced in Vista in its Beta days. This was the recommended method then for creating a start menu or desktop item. But it specifically realated to a hidden feature. I have always kept it for transfer to reinstallations.

Create a new folder on your Windows desktop. Name the folder as :


The icon will change ! Now open the folder and see the Tasks

The folder contains all the shortcuts to the Tasks Control Panel and System Settings.

Move the folder to the C drive, and create its shortcut there, or copy it to the Program Data - Microsoft - Windows Start menu folder.

What are we to move or copy?

Nothing Cliff.
Right click the desktop. In the drop down, select "New" and "Folder"
Now outline and copy the whole of the bold string in my post.
Right click your "New Folder" and select "rename"
Press Ctrl and V (at the same time) to paste in the new name which you have copied from my post, and enter..

Thats it. Now clcik the folder, and you will have instant access to all the customisable features in Windows 7.

You can now, through the normal Windows Explorer functions, open "User" , "Username" , "Desktop". Here you can select the new folder and drag and drop it to anywhere you find convenient. In my suggestion, for example, you can open Program Data - Microsoft - Windows and Start Menu and paste it into one of the groups you have there.

I am finding this very handy Dave, easy to make on a customers PC for quick access (i leave it on the desktop) and just delete when I'm finished

I have just loaded it on my son, who is a travelling Dell troubleshooter for windows 7. My ego is on a high as he is over the moon about it!!

Very handy tool Dave, I've not seen this hidden feature before.
