I run as a limited user , and * somehow * I now have an Administrator
shield on the exe file for my browser , Maxthon.

In my limited account , I receive a UAC prompt have have to supply my Admin
password to activate it

In the Admin account , I just get the UAC prompt.

Both my Admin account and Limited account show full access , and my limited
account shows as the owner of the file.

Is there any way I can get rid of the prompt ?

It depends on *WHY* this application is causing UAC to kick in. Does it
save data to it's own local program directory? If so, install the program to
a location other than \Program Files for example.

Try right clicking on the the shortcut to Maxthon or the executable
itself, select Properties, and clear the checkbox "Run as
Administrator". It's on the Compatibilities tab.

No guarantees, however...

Many thanks for both replies. Just to clarify , Maxthon is the browser I use
, and when it was first installed , there was no prompt in either account.
I was ' poking around ' and did 'something ' unrelated to it specifically ,
and the next time I tried to start it , I received the prompt in my limited
account. It's the only program on my computer that it happened to. Clearing
the Run as Administrator box has removed the prompt , although it still
shows an Administrator icon on the taskbar shortcut. ( Maybe that will
disappear when I reboot..??)

Thanks again for the help...appreciated !
