i have recently installed windows 7 in my dell studio 1555. The problem that i m facing currently is with the PORT : Communication Port (COM 3) in device manager is showing some probelms. Below is the error i m getting

<Error>
Windows cannot determine the settings for this device. Consult the documentation that came with this device and use the Resource tab to set the configuration. (Code 34)
</Error>

Because of this i m not able to use my USB modem for internet. The system is not even detecting it.

But when i tried to update the driver for this i get the notification as driver is upto date.

Please can someone help me out.......

Thanks

strange, try doing the following see if that sorts your issue;

Uninstall any software associated with the modem
Disconnect the modem from the computer
Install the driver
Connect the modem and when prompted, point Windows to where the driver is installed.

Whats your modem model number?

have you tried an older driver for your modem?

This where you got your drivers? http://support.dell.com/support/down...nConsent=False
