I am using Windows 7 and Explorer.
I am using Outlook 2003 for my mail. Here is my problem. In an email with black text you can get a highlighted word or two in blue. If you click on the blue highlighted words it should take you somewhere, eg..a tracking number. If you click on it, it will show you something, but mine won't. I will get a window thar pops up entitled Locate Link Browser.
It seems that the highlighted words are blocked when I click on them. Could someone explain to me how I can fix this.

Thanks Harry

I use Windows 7 and Outlook 2003, not Outlook Express 2003. Here's paragraph from one of my emails and it works fine for me. Do the links in the paragraph work for you?

Welcome to the forums Harry

Can you try the suggestion on this page to see if this solves it please?:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/821692

patrickt, I've had to remove the link you posted as it was for a product you've purchased and could invalidate your license as others would be able to download it. As the paragraph was copied and pasted from Outlook, unfortuately it wouldn't be able to replicate the problem.

I went to the support.microsoft.com and followed the instructions.
Clicked on My Computer then Tools then Folder Options then was told to click the File Types tab which does not show up for me.

I forgot to mention that my email works fine with Fire Fox. I can click on the link and it takes me there but I really want to use Explorer.

Can you try the following location to see if you can alter the file association mentioned in the article:

Quote:
  1. Click Start. Open Control Panel, click Control Panel Home in Windows 7, and click Programs.
  2. Click Default Programs, and click Associate a file type or protocol with a program.
I'm a little confused when you say that your e-mail works ok with FireFox? Do you mean that you've associated FF as the "link browser" when prompteD?

Ian, I am using Windows7, not Vista. I tried your suggestion but it is not the same with Windows7. I can use both Explorer and Fire Fox. In my email I can click on a link and it will open when I use Fire Fox. This does not work with Exoplorer. I didn't ascociate anything with Fire Fox, it must have been automatically I guess.

I don't use Explorer but wont there be a setting in options tab with Explorer to "make explorer my default browser" or words along those lines.
If I'm understanding your post correctly when you click on a hyperlink within an email FF opens and not explorer is that correct?

As FF is a free download you could try deleting FF completely forcing the system to use explorer. If that then worked re-install FF and see what happens.

Yes that is how it is working. I removed FF for my PC. I still can't open links in my email with Explorer.
