Ctrl + A will select all items in the active window, nothing to do with
folder options

Did you read what I replied to?
Read it again.
Now don't you think you should butt-out?

As Trev said, it has nothing to do with folder options.

Nah, Jack just doesn't know how to post a reply to the correct message
in the thread.

You would think.

In this newsreader (MesNews), if I press Ctrl-A while the message
window is active, then all the headers in the headers window get
selected.

That is, of course, pretty bizarre, IMO.

Jack is a lot smarter than either of you. Jack replied to: "Do NOT need to
highlight just get focus in the place you want and then Ctrl A"

You either have to click somewhere in the window, or you have to have your
folder options set for "Point to select" to get focus. (Clicking somewhere
in the window _is_ highlighting it.)
