DVD ROM DONT READ DVDs MOST OF THE TIMES

You could always delete the device from device manager and then reboot. This should allow Windows 7 to set the drive back up during startup.

Also have you checked for optional update within Windows Update?

Ya delete the device but there is no update on the MS website I just looked.

From what I looked up we've tried every thing. the only other thing it could be that the drive is dead. Maybe let another one of these guys help you. If you find any thing else pls let me know
