dvd not showing in xp

hey could you please help me my dvd drive is not showing in windows,device manager etc.It is showing in bios where as my cd drive is showing in windows as well as in bios what should i do for my dvd drive
i have already attempted in deleting the upper and lower filters os there any other way please help

Please explain your setup in more detail, for example, are you using Sata or ide connections and how the jumpers are set.

Do you need both optical drives? DVD may be enough.

Did it work before and suddenly stop working?

Are you talking about an Virtual PC installation of XP under W7?
