Should be no problem at all, just choose a different partition to install
Win7 or a different disk. Win7 will install a boot menu that will come up
when the install is complete.
For my own preference I would not want the boot menu at all and rather
choose to install Win7 to a different disk so I don't lose the opportunity
to start the computer if the disk with the menu failed. I would use the bios
option from the mb to choose which disk I would start an OS. And so the way
to install Win7 with an upgrade disk without it looking for any installation
of XP would need to be done on its own hard drive and the drive with WinXP
disconnected during the install of Win7. One chooses custom install and not
to activate during the process. When the installation is complete one
registry setting is changed and in a command prompt window a couple of
commands are typed. Take a look at this youtube video following the
relatively simple directions. They worked for me.
