I recently upgraded from Vista to Windows 7. Ever since then I've been getting intermittant blue screens that say Driver_Power_State_Failure. This is annoying and Microsoft seems to have no answer. I have to restart then start over. All my drivers according to MS are up to date. Any answers?

Do you have ACPI enabled in the system BIOS?
If so do you also have ACPI 2.0 enabled?

Advanced Configuration & Power Interface

I'm not sure if I am sending you on a wild goose chase with this one though.

Hi.

C:\Windows\Minidump

Zip the contents there and attach to a post using the paperclip. We can have a look at it to see what needs updating.

For those of us that don't have the folder "C:\Windows\Minidump".
This link maybe of help - Debugging Tools for Windows - Overview

From what I can tell this Debugging Tool will create these Minidumps. Please read carefully and download the correct version of the tool.

Minidumps are created when a bsod happens. They can be forced to happen if needed, when there are intermittent ones happening previously.

If this is an Asus machine in question, uninstall the ATK0110 app which owns ASACPI.sys completely and you'll be fine. It's probably running a 2004 driver. Not so good.

Ahh, That explains why I don't have the folder. I have had one BSOD, it seemed to be related to new memory installed into a new motherboard and was not seated very well. I pulled the memory out and placed them back in a few times to create a better seat the memory. I have since done a system restore, so the folder if created was wiped.

Anyway back to the Original Poster, I'm hoping we can help.
