how?

Ive always done it from win95 to XP, my whole pc experience is through
accessing these drives..but if i drag a drive now it pins it to some obscure
submenu meaning more clicks just to open a drive making it pointless to move
it from my computer

picture incase anyones not sure what i mean...why wont win7 let me put them
there, and how can i make it so?

It pins it to the Windows Explorer icon. Right-click-choose drive. Not
that hard or obscure...

Probably a long shot, but if you can put a Windows Explorer icon on
the Quicklaunch bar where you want it, then you can adjust the Target
properties to open the drive you want. And if that works, you can add
as many more Windows Explorer icons as you like, setting each of them
to open the desired drives.

What I have done is created my own toolbar. All you have to do is create
an empty folder somewhere then make it the target of a "New toolbar"
instruction. After that, you can drag whatever you want, including
drives, to your new custom toolbar, just like in the olde daze, with
optional title and text.

Right, and if you read my request I want 1 click access again. Not that
useful or helpful...

Thank you Gordon Fishface and Dave. I used the information and have made a
toolbar and dragged it over so its where the quicklaunch was. Mission
accomplished.

Thanks again.

What you want to do is to restore the Quicklaunch toolbar and then you'll be
able to do as you did with XP and earlier versions of Windows. To do that,
just follow the steps in this article:
