can you provide more informaion? is it one specific excel file? or all excel files? Does it work if you double click on a word document?

Does it open this excel file if you right mouse click and then hit open?

let us know, I am sure we'll get to the bottom of this

Thanks for your replay.
Find bellow some more information.
- It is not for one specific file but for all excel files.
- If I double click on a word document it works.
- Excel file does not open if I right mouse click ant then hit open.
Please note that the excel program opens but workbook doew not.
Thanks again

parakalo.

This is very unusual.

Did you try launching excel, then go to file, open and open a file. Does that work? if not,

My advise would be to reinstall MS Office or just the excel part of it and see if that works.

Good luck and let us know how you fare.

In XP I would say it is missing the "%1" parameter which passes the filename to the opening executable but in Win 7 I don't see anything like that in the "Default Programs" settings. I am using 2007 not 2003 and fortunately for me it works correctly. Hopefully someone else has an idea.

One thing you could try is at the bottom of this MS report...
